According to the Vietnam News Agency (VNA), the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade recently discussed a proposal to establish a raw material production, storage, and trading center for the textile and leather footwear industry, which is expected to be launched in 2025.
The Deputy Minister of Trade of Vietnam recently emphasized that Vietnam's manufacturing industry needs to reduce its dependence on imported materials, which currently mostly come from countries such as China and South Korea. The textile and leather industries are key to Vietnam's economy, generating nearly $30 billion in export revenue in the first half of 2024 and creating approximately 5 million jobs for Vietnam.
This center will enhance the traceability of materials, ensure high quality standards, and provide a better trading platform for global suppliers.
